Girls and boys born 2014-2006
April 14 to June 23, 2018 (field location is to be announced closer to start date, but all games are in Richmond)
The recreational spring soccer league is a game-based league ideal for players, girls and boys, that are looking for a casual and fun soccer environment. Players of all levels will be placed on balanced teams and play in small sided game format.
The spring league is a recreational game-based program open to all players of all levels and abilities. Players who register for this program will be placed on a team and will participate in a series of small sided games in a 3v3 or 4v4 format against other teams participating in the league. Teams are run by volunteer parent coaches and there are Richmond FC staff coaches on-field to help facilitate each session. The program will run for a total of 10 weeks and teams will play 2 games per week one on the weekend and the other during the week.
Programming for 2009 to 2006 born players:
The spring league is a recreational game-based program open to all players of all levels and abilities. Players who register for this program will be placed on a team and will participate in a series of SMALL-SIDED GAMES in a 5v5 FORMAT against other teams participating in the league. The small-sided 5v5 format is new for 2018 and designed to give players more touches on the ball. Teams are run by volunteer parent coaches with a Richmond FC staff coach on-field to facilitate each session. The program will run for a total of 10 weeks and teams will play 2 games per week one on the weekend and the other during the week.
Programming for 2014 born players :
Richmond FC Parent-Tot program has been developed as a fun introduction to soccer for players born in 2014 which runs for 9 weeks over the spring. Designed to prepare players for entry into “mainstream” soccer programming that runs September to March each year, with 4 years old being the youngest allowable age. The program will operate every Sunday, and parents will be expected to participate in the sessions with their child. Program is delivered by Richmond FC staff coaches. Sessions will be 45 minutes in length, and will follow a curriculum developed by the RFC Technical director, Steve Hood, based on the Long Term Player Development model.
Key Points about the 2018 Spring Soccer League:
* Spring Soccer League runs April 14 to June 23 – twice a week, except Parent-Tot which is once per week.
* The League is run by the Richmond FC (boys club).
* Focus of the spring league is skill development through game play. ALL sessions are small-sided games per above – there are no practices.
* Field location is to be announced when the season starts (but will be at the same location for each session).
* Equipment required are shinguards, socks and soccer cleats. All players receive a league t-shirt to keep.

Registration Fee after MARCH 16: $150 (no guarantee of placement on team)
PLAYING DAYS & TIMES
Spring League runs twice per week (you are registering for both sessions) April 14-June 23 (except Parent-tot which runs Sundays, April 15 to June 17 ). There is no soccer on the Victoria Day (May) long weekend – May 19, 20 & 21. Field location is not known at this time, but it will be the same field for all sessions. Field location will be sent out just prior to the League start-up. Please don’t email to ask as we don’t know at this time.

2009-2008 **Separate Girls/Boys
Girls: Saturday 12-1pm AND Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm
Boys: Saturday 11am-1pm AND Tuesday 5.30-7.30pm (1 hr game in each time slot on each day, preset schedule)
Saturday 9-11am AND Wednesday 5.30-7.30pm (1 hr game in each time slot on each day, preset schedule)
**2011 to 2008 will only be separate boys and girls if girls’ registration numbers permit the formation of at least 4 girls teams to form their own League. If registration numbers do not allow for the formation of 4 girls teams, then 2011-2008 will be run co-ed with at least 3 to 4 girls per co-ed team. We will not be able to confirm this until registration is closed (March 31) and we are able to review the registration numbers.
Requests to be with a friend are only taken for those players born in 2013, 2012 and 2011. There is space on the registration form to make this request for these birth years ONLY and we will only accommodate up to ONE player requests (e.g., if you write in 4 players names, we guarantee placement with ONE only). We will only accommodate up to 2 parents wanting to coach/help out together on the same team. Requests of more than two parents to coach together will be broken into groups of two. We must divide the volunteers up evenly across the teams in order for the season to be successful. Thanks for your understanding.
1. Payment may be made by credit card only. Financial assistance is available for those in need. See “Financial Assistance” below. However registration fee payment by credit card must be made first and you can seek financial assistance after.
2. Registration is not complete until payment is received.
3. If payment 0r financial assistance is not received, your child will not be placed on a team.

Refunds are given up to Friday April 13, 2018. All refunds up to April 13 are subject to a $20 administration fee. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN AFTER THE SEASON STARTS (April 14).

2017/2018 RGSA (GIRLS) Players: If you did not play in the 2017 Spring League, but are currently registered and playing the 2017/2018 girls soccer season, you must set up an account to register for the Spring League as the boys and girls soccer clubs use different registration systems. New Players (boys or girls): Never played in the Spring Soccer League or with the Richmond FC (boys) or the RGSA (girls), click the REGISTER button and enter the registration system as a New User.
